
Triangle Empowerment Center, Inc. and various community partners and sponsors, will be hosting a week of LGBTQ+ community events. These events are during the commemoration of the Stonewall 50th Anniversary and Durham Pride. We are calling these events “Bull City Black Gay Pride, Quiet No More”. It will be held between June 9-15, 2019. The location site in Durham, NC will vary throughout the week and at each event, all are welcome to attend. Our focus will be on educating and linking people to PrEP and building the economic structure of the LGBTQ+ communities. We will be providing HIV testing (Knowing Your Status), incentives, entertainment, limited transportation assistance, cosmetic tips & tricks, training on addressing HIV Stigma, PrEP education/linkage and refreshments at the events.
On Thursday June 13, TEC and community partners will be hosting a training on fighting HIV stigma. This training is for multidisciplinary teams (HIV Health Care Providers, Clinicians, Social Workers, Nurses, Case Managers, Navigators, etc.).
Learn from the seasoned Poz 50+ group who can help break the stigma cycle.

Southern AIDS Coalition).
Objectives:
Define HIV-related stigma,
identify various types of stigma,
and explore some common examples;
Discuss the forms, effects, and causes of stigma in your organization;
Discuss the adverse impact stigma has on clients seeking services
