The UNC Infectious Diseases (ID) Clinic sees patients from across North Carolina and specializes in providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for people with HIV. As a Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program-funded clinic, the team at UNC offers a full range of services to help people with HIV lead healthy lives. Providers in the clinic have expertise in the prevention and management of HIV as well as other infectious diseases such as hepatitis and STIs. The team is also able to help patients navigate family planning decisions and pregnancies, stay up to date on health screenings and immunizations, explore gender-affirming hormone therapies, manage chronic lung disease, quit smoking, and treat complications of HIV. Beyond the ID Clinic, UNC Health offers a variety of specialized care options for people with HIV, including gender-affirming surgical procedures, advanced treatments for cancer, and even kidney transplantation. UNC Health offers financial assistance to qualifying patients. The UNC ID Clinic has social workers and benefits coordinators who help patients access programs to help with the cost of medications and medical care. The UNC ID Clinic is located at the Eastowne Medical Office Building in Chapel Hill and is open Monday through Friday.
